Pilot-operated joysticks offer precise control with low effort. They follow industry-standard controls for intuitive operation.
KWIK-TRIM™
The Kwik-Trim is more maneuverable and cost effective than large-scale mechanical trimmers. And it’s more productive than using bucket trucks or hand climbing. The Kwik-Trim features a customized mini excavator chassis with a 53-foot boom reach to efficiently handle the vast majority of tree trimming needs, making it the perfect tool for right-of-way vegetation management.
The highly maneuverable Kwik-Trim has an impressive 53-foot reach for a compact machine. That’s good enough to reach the vast majority of tree branches along utility line right-of-ways. And it’s certainly enough to save you time and money.
The Takeuchi TB260 power unit platform has been customized for vegetation management with full-view bronze tinted polycarbonate windows that are a half-inch thick with a guard. The cab has met the following certifications:
- ISO 8084 OPS
- ISO 8083 FOPS
- ISO 8082-2 ROPS
- ISO 3471 ROPS
- ISO 12117-2 ROPS
The Kwik-Trim cab has a variety of features for operator comfort:
- Heat and air conditioning
- Fully adjustable seat
- AM/FM radio with auxiliary audio jack
- Cupholder
The powerful 47.6 diesel engine has an EPA final tier 4 rating, but does not require DEF. It uses only 1.6 gallons of fuel per hour.
Variable displacement piston pumps and custom valving provide smooth, precise hydraulic control of the boom. Other standard features include a large capacity oil cooler for maximum reliability and an easy access panel to hydraulic components, eliminating the need to tilt the cab for maintenance.
Loftness’ Counter-Rotating Track Control System allows you to maintain precise saw position while rotating the track undercarriage. Thanks to this innovative feature, you can confidently and safely position the Kwik-Trim on some of the tightest jobsites.
The Kwik-Trim produces low ground pressure, makes little noise and has a small footprint, making it more acceptable in residential areas than larger trimming equipment.
Despite its compact size, the Kwik-Trim provides maximum stability on difficult terrain. The Takeuchi TB260 power unit has a wide stance and low center of gravity, allowing the unit to safely access most areas.
Unlike large-scale mechanical trimmers, the Kwik-Trim doesn’t require a lowboy trailer and semi truck for transport. Weighing only 14,000 pounds, it can be towed with a pickup and standard trailer. This allows crews to maneuver more easily on tight jobsites, while keeping a lower profile.
The 53-foot fiberglass non-conductive boom is dielectrically certified to ANSI A92-2 Category C standards to 100KV for operator safety.
The Kwik-Trim uses an industry-standard 24-inch carbide-tipped saw blade. It operates at 3,000 RPM, making quick work of branches.
The specialized design of the hose reel mount eliminates the need for external boom support during transport. This speeds the process of prepping the machine for transport.
The 18,000-pound hydraulic winch is conveniently located at the front center of the machine. It has its own hydraulic circuit, making it ready to be operated from inside the cab whenever needed.
