BATTLE AX® – TRACTOR
540 RPM PTO Compact Tractors
Harness the performance of the Battle Ax with your existing tractor. Compatible with 540 RPM PTO tractors with 30 to 70 PTO horsepower, the Battle Ax Tractor mulching attachment uses its unique rotor design to efficiently mulch unwanted vegetation on your property. Plus, the Loftness® exclusive two-stage cutting chamber helps you process material more thoroughly and more consistently for quicker decomposition and a nicer look, if desired.
The Battle Ax rotor design uses built-in depth gauges to control cutting depth, like raker teeth on a chainsaw.
Two shear bars allow the Battle Ax to produce a finer mulch with fewer passes.
The cutting teeth are mounted to the rotor with a single bolt. They can be easily reversed, replaced or removed on the jobsite using a common hex socket.
Choose from 4-point beaver teeth, Quadco reversible planer blades or double carbide teeth.
This exclusive tooth arrangement ensures single-tooth contact with the work surface at all times while maintaining optimal rotor balance.
The Battle Ax Tractor hitch is adaptable from Cat I to Cat II, free-link or quick hitch. The mulcher can be centered or positioned 16 inches offset to the right.
A cam-type PTO kickout protects the gearbox from damage without a clutch pack.
Rotor ends are machine turned to mate with close tolerance, machined anti-wrap rings, which minimize debris in the bearing chamber.
The Battle Ax is constructed of high-strength steel to withstand some of the toughest operating conditions.
Running the entire length of the mulching attachment, steel deflector chains improve safety by reducing flying debris.
A manually adjustable tree pusher bar with welded claw hooks is available.
A containment door option helps prevent the mulcher from projecting material underneath the tractor.
The Battle Ax Tractor can be equipped with a deflector door for more thorough processing and direct discharge toward the ground.
The Battle Ax comes standard with an industry-leading 2-year warranty.
Reversible with ultra-sharp, heat-treated steel knife edges, the Quadco planer blades effortlessly slice through trees and vegetation, as opposed to shredding and tearing. They can be rotated on site for a fresh cutting edge, or sharpened to maintain efficiency.
Constructed of heat-treated steel, the reversible beaver teeth have four points, which help them pick up material from the ground. They are more cost effective than planer blades, but offer less slicing performance.
Carbide cutting teeth are highly durable for withstanding tough operating conditions, such as rocky terrain. The Battle Ax rotor is designed to work well with these teeth, whereas ring-style rotors tend to have difficulty picking up material when using carbides.
