Loftness® skid steer mulching heads have earned a strong reputation for innovative design, performance, durability and superior customer support. Our product line includes the popular Battle Ax® series, which features the Loftness exclusive depth gauges and two-stage cutting chamber to maximize performance, while providing the ability to process material more thoroughly than competitive products. We also offer the Timber Ax™ for skid steers, which has an upward rotating rotor with sharpened knives to quickly process material. For those wanting a disc mulcher instead of a horizontal drum mulcher, we have the Bad Ax®.

Our most popular mulching head, the Battle Ax features an innovative design using depth gauges and a two-stage cutting chamber to maximize performance, while providing the ability to process material more thoroughly than competitive products. We’ve given it a specialized body shape and hitch angle for superior jobsite versatility. Models are available for both low- and high-flow skid steers and compact track loaders.
The Bad Ax isn’t just another disc mulcher. It’s been engineered for superior weight balance, durability and performance. And it’s available for skid steers and compact track loaders with 36-50 GPM and 70-120 hydraulic horsepower.
Because of its unique reverse rotor rotation, the Timber Ax delivers results with more efficiency. Keeping the cutting action of the hardened steel alloy blades off the ground enables the Timber Ax to take on dense brush and trees in one pass with less horsepower…even trees as large as 10 inches in diameter. It is available for skid steers and compact track loaders with 22-40 GPM and 40-85 hydraulic horsepower.
